Guardiola stands by Aguero, Bravo snub

Cape Town - Pep Guardiola says he won't lose sleep over dropping Sergio Aguero and Claudio Bravo for their 4-0 Premier League win over West Ham on Wednesday.

Back-up goalkeeper Willy Caballero was preferred to Bravo while Gabriel Jesus took his place in the City attack over the Argentine.

City cruised to a 4-0 win over Slaven Bilic's side, with Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva, Yaya Toure, and Jesus on target.

There was a late appearance for Aguero though as he replaced Raheem Sterling on 73 minutes - proving Guardiola has no problem playing him alongside their young Brazilian.

After the match, Guardiola explained: "Caballero was the first choice. I will sleep well and decide in the future."

"Was it a difficult decision? Yes, it was difficult.

"But three or four guys stayed in Manchester, that was difficult. I have 23 guys who deserve to play."

Guardiola concluded that Aguero remains in his plans, as does the rest of his squad.

"Sergio remains an important player for us. I make decisions with my staff, depending on performances in the past.

"I'm a guy who likes to involve as many players as possible. In this crazy calendar it's impossible to play with the same guys. I try to be fair with my decisions."
