Guardiola: Chelsea are best EPL team

Cape Town - Pep Guardiola admits Manchester City will be facing the Premier League’s top team next weekend when they lock horns with leaders Chelsea.

City remained with a point of the summit on Saturday after a Sergio Aguero double saw them come from behind to triumph at newly-promoted Burnley.

However, next Saturday’s top-of-the-table clash against Chelsea promises to be a far sterner test for City after Antonio Conte’s side ended Tottenham’s unbeaten record to secure a seventh successive league win.

“We are going to play against the best team right now in the Premier League for the last five or six weeks,” said Guardiola.

“They play amazing, just clean sheets.

“The way they play, we are going to try to discover his secret, what we can do to beat them. “We have now six or seven days to prepare.

“The players are tired, that’s why we are going to prepare our game as well as possible.”

Guardiola was relieved to come away from Turf Moor with three points after the Clarets had boasted the second-best home record in the top flight.

“I saw the games against Liverpool and Arsenal - so it’s so tough,” he added.

“What they do, they do really, really well.

“It doesn’t adapt very well to the way we play, but it’s very rewarding that we’ve been to Stoke, here and we’ve won all the points. The fact we are winning away is great for us.”
