Fulham confident of signing Mitrovic from Newcastle

Cape Town - Fulham are reportedly closing in on signing Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic after the Serb impressed during his loan spell at the club.

Mitrovic was regarded as surplus to requirements by manager Rafael Benitez and he left the Magpies at the end of January to spend the second-half of the 2017/18 season on loan at the Cottagers in the Championship.

The loan was a great success for both Mitrovic and Fulham, as he scored 12 goals in 17 Championship appearances to help the club reach the promotion play-offs.

They went on to beat Aston Villa 1-0 in the play-off final and are now back in the Premier League.

Fulham are now seemingly eager to get the Serbia international back to Craven Cottage as they aim to build a squad capable of keeping the club in the English top-flight.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
