Cape Town - England defender Harry Maguire says the Leicester City squad are excited to work under Brendan Rodgers and feels his quick appointment allows the Foxes to "crack on".
Leicester parted company with Claude Puel on Sunday after just 16 months in charge following a run of seven games without a victory.
They confirmed the appointment of Rodgers, who left his post at Scottish giants Celtic, on Tuesday prior to their home clash with Brighton.
Rodgers watched on from the stands as the Foxes returned to winning ways with a 2-1 triumph over the Seagulls.
Maguire has hailed an ambitious move from the club and feels Rodgers is the perfect fit to mould a squad full of talented youngsters.
The England international told Leicester's official website: "It shows great ambition from the club. Straight away, no hanging about, one that all the lads in there are all looking forward to.
"We've got a young squad here and he brings through a lot of young players so it’s a perfect fit and like I said, from me and the boys, we're really looking forward to it so let's crack on.
Rodgers will only have a few days to work with the squad before they travel to take on an in-form Watford at Vicarage Road on Sunday.
