Fernandes issues come-and-get-me plea to Man United

Cape Town - Manchester United target Bruno Fernandes admits he wants to move to England but insists that he is fully concentrated on his work with Sporting Lisbon at the moment.

Reports on Monday claimed that the Red Devils have now made an offer but that their €50 million 'first poll' didn't even 'reach the table'.

The Portuguese outlet A Bola added that there is 'British talk' of a new €62 million offer but this has yet to reach Sporting.

Representatives of Fernandes are believed to be on their way to England again to try and hike up the price and strike a deal, with reports indicating that Sporting value him around €70 million.

And now Fernandes has spoken out on his future at the Portuguese club amid the interest from United. The president decides that, not me," Fernandes told A Bola (via Sport Witness).

"I don't care about the market, I've talked about this many times. The only thing I can do now is catch the plane so I don’t miss it.

"Will this be the last match for Sporting? I don't know, it’s the coach who decides.

"I told you I'd like to play in England, but that’s not what interests me. It may be when the club decides."

Earlier in the week, the Portuguese club’s president was ambushed by the media as he got on a plane for Sporting’s pre-season tour.

On rumours of bids from United, Frederico Varandas told RTP: "I don't know if there are many or if there are few [interested clubs].

"What I know, a lot has been spoken of values, coming to the press, 55m, 62m for that he doesn't leave, for sure."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
