The Manchester City and England international has slipped further down the pecking order after the club used its £5 million buy-back option for the former academy graduate – who they sold just 12 months ago to PSV Eindhoven.
Delph is out of contract next year but was waiting to see what moves Pep Guardiola would be making this summer, before deciding his own future.
It’s understood the Citizens have no issue with the 29-year-old sticking around and still view him as a useful squad player, having proved his versatility by filling in for injured left-back Benjamin Mendy during the last two seasons.
However, Delph is keen to play more regularly and the re-signing of Angelino, alongside a new contract for Aleksandr Zinchenko, now has him fourth-choice at best for the role. The likeable Yorkshireman is still a midfield fixture for England and doesn’t want to harm his potential chances of playing at next year’s European Championships.
Galatasaray are keen after the Turkish giants sounded out his camp but Delph would much prefer to continue playing in the English top-flight, should someone be willing to now match his current £85 000-per-week salary.
