Cape Town - The English Premier League has been called a one-horse race by leading South African bookmakers BET.co.za

In fact, they have decided to pay out all bets on Manchester City citing their dominance of the league and the floundering of their title rivals as a sign that they are certainties to lift the trophy at the end of the season.

Manchester City shortened into 7/50 favourites to win the league after dismantling Arsenal this weekend and that was enough for BET.co.za to give the rest of the league the 10 count and label them knocked out.

The news will no doubt displease Manchester United (29/2) fans with their team only eight points behind the leaders on the log, but after their loss at Chelsea the writing seems to be on the wall for Jose Mourinho and his charges.

Likewise Spurs (53/4), Chelsea (71/4), Liverpool (57/1) and Arsenal (83/1) have fallen too far behind the champions elect to catch them before the end of the season.

BET.co.za clients were elated to receive news of the payout on Monday with one exclaiming 'what a bonus, great times' in response to being notified of the early payout.

"The response to us paying out has been massive. South Africans traditionally love their Premier League and the destination of the title is always hotly debated. Since Leicester City cleaned out bookies by winning at 5 000/1, we've seen lots of bets flooding in on title winners. The odds on Manchester City weren't nearly as high (opening at 18/10), but there are still lots of happy BET.co.za punters today!" said BET.co.za marketing manager Brenton Chelin.
