Drogba offers Lampard update

Cape Town - Chelsea legend Didier Drogba says Frank Lampard is in talks with the club to become their new manager and believes it is only a matter of time before the announcement will be made.

Lampard is the hot favourite to step in and replace Maurizio Sarri, and although Derby County are still insisting he remains their manager, the Blues legend is expected to arrive at Stamford Bridge sooner rather than later.

Lampard’s good friend and former Chelsea team-mate, Drogba, has now also chipped in, and speaking on his Instagram account, says that talks are ongoing and has told Blues fans to relax as a deal will happen.

When asked during the live broadcast, who will be the best Chelsea manager, he replied: "The one who is currently in talks to get the job, Frank Lampard.

"Further developments are expected this week and everyone involved with Derby and Chelsea will be hoping for a quick resolution so they can kick on with plans for the forthcoming season and beyond."

Drogba then went on to reveal his concerns over Chelsea‘s bid to replace Eden Hazard, who has joined Real Madrid this summer, and believes they could have a hard time trying to cope without the Belgium international.
