Borussia Dortmund are reportedly willing to consider a swap deal with Manchester United involving Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood.
England winger Sancho, 20, has become one of European football's hottest properties since his departure to the Bundesliga nearly three years ago.
A host of Premier League heavyweights have all registered interest in bringing the vibrant forward back to England, with Jamie Carragher recently urging Liverpool to beat the Red Devils to his signature.
It is Man Utd who appear to be in pole position, however, with a recent report giving Utd fans hope the club will be extremely active in the next window.
Dortmund have garnered a reputation for developing some of football's brightest young talent, evidenced by the immediate returns shown since the January arrival of Erling Braut Haaland.
So it comes as no surprise to see then, that the club reportedly tried to tempt Man Utd into letting rising forward Mason Greenwood move n the opposite direction in order to facilitate Sancho's exit to Old Trafford.
British newspaper the Metro (via ESPN) reveal that Dortmund 'launched an audacious move of their own to try and sign Greenwood.'
Greenwood has risen to prominence in the current campaign, notching 12 times and adding four assists in senior first-team football despite being just 18 years of age.
Understandably, Utd chiefs rejected the proposal and moved quickly to tie the impressive youngster down to a fresh long-term deal.
While that avenue came to a dead end, the report notes that Sancho remains 'firmly on United's radar.'
Dortmund's stance on losing their superstar Englishman is said to be 'softening,' though a bid in excess of the £100 million mark is still likely to be required to get the deal over the line.
