Cape Town - Alex Dobre has expressed his delight at signing a new contract with Premier League side AFC Bournemouth.
The 20-year-old Romania under-21 international, whose full name is Mihai-Alexandru Dobre, joined the Cherries as a youth team player in 2016 from FC Viitorul Mihai Georgescu.
He was promoted to the senior side in 2017 and has since spent time on loan with Bury and Rochdale, where he impressed enough for Bournemouth to offer him a new deal.
Speaking to the club's website after penning his new three-year contract, Dobre said: "I feel very happy.
"I'm looking forward to making my first-team debut and doing great things here.
"Since I came to England I've gained a lot of experience from the games here, they made me grow up become more mature and I've learned a lot of things from the professional games."
He added: "It was difficult when I first came here because the training here is harder and more intense and the game is faster, I needed to adapt to that and that's what I've done.
"My plans are to get into the first 11, I'm looking forward to getting a chance in the cup games this season and if I can play well then I am looking to get a chance in the Premier League."
