Cape Town - Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea insists winning the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace on Saturday will be the best way to end another tough campaign at Old Trafford.
De Gea has, on a personal level, enjoyed one of his best seasons with the Red Devils, after winning the club's Player of the Year for the third time in a row, and helping the team book their spot in the FA Cup decider at Wembley.
The Spain international hopes to win the final trophy on offer to cap what has been a roller-coaster 12 months for Louis van Gaal's side.
"It's been the best season of my career," said De Gea. "I'm in great shape physically and mentally I'm very focused.
"If we win the FA Cup it will be a good season. We are all really keen to win such an important trophy for this club, our supporters and ourselves. We will fight to the end and do everything we can to win it.
"We've had a couple of difficult seasons so we are really determined to win the cup. And winning it could provide us with that extra belief and motivation to hopefully go on and achieve great things."
