Cape Town - Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is confident the Red Devils will launch a Premier League title challenge under new manager Jose Mourinho.
Following the appointment of Mourinho, United have made big signings with the acquisitions of Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while Paul Pogba is poised to return to Old Trafford.
Trophies have been hard to come by for United since Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, but De Gea is backing the current team to bring glory back to Old Trafford.
De Gea said: "I think we signed top players, really good players. We are Manchester United and we want to fight for everything.
"I feel for the fans, for the club and the players (that something exciting is coming) - you feel like it is a new era. I think the club is really strong now.
"The players, we want to win everything and hopefully we can do it."
The Spanish shot-stopper, who was speaking at United's kit launch in China, says Mourinho has made a quick impact on the squad since he joined.
De Gea continued: "He is a strong character. "He is a winner - he is one of the best managers in the world and we feel it. We are really comfortable with him.
"He is a strong character but he makes jokes. It is good for us to laugh and I think he is a really good manager.
