London - Fulham are reported to have turned down a £27 million offer from Tottenham for striker Aleksandar Mitrovic in January.
Spurs were scouring the market to sign another striker after losing Harry Kane to injury, and it would now appear that Mitrovic was a target for Mauricio Pochettino.
The 24-year-old had an indifferent time with Newcastle but has since found his feet at Fulham when helping them win promotion from the Championship last season.
Since making the move permanent, the Serbian has fired home 10 goals this season, despite the fact the Cottagers have struggled with a relegation battle.
Tottenham are reported to have made a £27 million offer for Mitrovic in January, but Fulham knocked it back as they battle to beat the drop.
Tottenham have yet to find an adequate back-up striker for Kane, and reports also suggest they will make another attempt to lure Mitrovic at the end of the season.
Their chances of success could hinge on what division Fulham are in next season, but a bid could be made nonetheless.
