Cape Town - Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa claims new Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola cannot sign any players from his former club.
Costa ruled out a reunion with Guardiola at City, stating that the former Barcelona boss has a clause in his contract at the Citizens that he is not allowed to target any players in the Bavarians squad.
"Would I be open to City if Pep called? It's something he has in his contract, a clause that says he cannot sign any players from Bayern," he told Globo Esporte.
Guardiola signed the Brazilian winger from Shakhtar Donetsk ahead of the 2015/16 campaign. The attacker impressed in his debut season, featuring 43 times for Bayern in all competitions and assisting 18 goals, while finding the back of the net seven times.
The 25-year-old revealed he is happy at the Bundesliga champions and will remain at the club for the foreseeable future.
"I am in a situation where I could stay at Bayern for a long time. The club's philosophy is to keep players at Bayern for a long time. I am happy at the prospect of enjoying a long career here," he explained.
"I have made a big step forward since leaving Shakhtar for Bayern. I did not expect to become so important right away. This has been the best year of my career."
