Conte: Right time for Hazard to start a game

Cape Town - Chelsea manager Antonio Conte believes the EFL Cup clash with Nottingham Forest is the ideal opportunity to give Eden Hazard his first start of the season.

The Blues are preparing to take on Forest on Wednesday night and Conte has confirmed that Hazard will make the starting line-up after being eased back into the team following surgery on his fractured ankle.

The Belgium international played a key role in Conte's Premier League-winning side last season, scoring 16 goals and providing five assists, and the Italian is eager to get him back firing on all cylinders.

"For Eden, now is the right moment to start the game and to try to play the whole game," Conte said in his pre-match press conference.

"I hope to be with him at the final step from his injury.

"In my (playing) career I was injured a lot and I have a bit of experience.

"With him, we are managing the situation well."
