Cape Town - Stoke City chairman Peter Coates is pleased with his club's overall display in the Premier League this season.
Despite suffering a long injury list which included their captain Ryan Shawcross and first-choice goalkeeper Jack Butland, the Potters managed to collect 51 points to finish ninth for the third time in three years and the chairman insists they couldn't have asked for more.
"If you look at the injury list we've had a pretty good season," Coates told BBC Radio Stoke.
"We're doing pretty well. We almost got to a final. We only narrowly lost in the League Cup semi-final to Liverpool and we've finished ninth three times. That is a good season.
"We were just disappointed as we were in a nice position and wanted to kick on and do better."
