Cape Town - Manchester City hope to end their
search for a new midfielder by signing Lyon star Tanguy Ndombele in the
summer, reports have claimed.
Only this week City boss Pep Guardiola admitted the club are pursuing
deals as they look to finally land Fernandinho’s long-term replacement,
and it would appear Ndombele is the man they want.
The 22-year-old has been on Guardiola’s wanted list for some time and
it is claimed that City failed with a bid in the region of 50million
euros last summer after missing out on Jorginho.
The France international is said to possess the technical and
physical attributes required in the Premier League and City will make
another attempt to land him when the window re-opens.
City would face strong competition however as Manchester United and
Italian champions Juventus are also said to be interested in doing a
City are said to be willing to a club record fee of £70 million to
land their man, but it remains to be seen if that will be enough to
convince Lyon to sell.
