Cape Town - Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar is reportedly being tracked by both Manchester clubs ahead of the off-season transfer window.
The Slovakia international has become one of the best central defenders in Europe following some assured performances for Inter, and clubs are starting to form an orderly queue for his signature.
Manchester City are said to be leading it, with reports claiming they will match Inter's £85 million valuation to ensure they get a deal done when the transfer window opens again.
However, they face strong competition from arch rivals Manchester United, who have been tracking the player for some time and are keen to sign at least one central defender this summer.
Liverpool, along with Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, are also known to be in the hunt and a huge transfer scramble could be on the cards during the close season.
