Cape Town - Southampton right-back Cedric Soares has shrugged off reports linking him with a move to Chelsea, insisting he is focused on his current season with the Saints.
The Portugal international signed a new contract with Southampton last year, tying him down to the club until 2020, and he is content to see out the deal.
The 25-year-old admitted that it is good to be linked with big clubs but will not allow it to unsettle him at St Mary's.
He said, according to the Daily Echo: “I have a contract with Southampton and I am working every day like I always do. I am professional.
“Of course a player likes to know some big teams are interested in us and it’s normal. We work every day.
“I have a contract. I am focused and what happens will happen.”
He added: “I have a contract and I am doing my best here.
“I am always professional and I am happy.”
The Saints next welcome Watford to St Mary's Stadium on September 9 with both sides aiming to continue their solid start to the English Premiership campaign.
Kick off is at 16:00.
