Brazil forward Everton Soares on Man City's radar

Cape Town - According to reports in Brazil, Manchester City have contacted Gremio in recent days about forward Everton Soares.

The Manchester giants were first linked last summer before the highly-rated 23-year-old was persuaded to sign a new deal at Gremio, which also saw a 90m buyout clause inserted.

'Everton', as he is known, is also wanted by AC Milan but City are understood to have spoken to both his club and agent, with a view to a summer switch to the Etihad.

Brazilian media outlets state Gremio are now looking to cash in on the Brazil international and are letting it be known they will grant a sale in the region of 45m, which is believed to have alerted clubs across Europe.

Everton bagged 17 goals in 43 appearances last season, which resulted in him being called up by his country and being touted for big things.

City are tapped into the Brazilian market and showed with their 2016 purchase of Gabriel Jesus from Palmeiras that they are always looking to steal a march when it comes to the burgeoning talents in Serie A.
