Cape Town - Former
West Ham midfielder Dimitri Payet says Nigerian international Victor
Moses was the best player at the club last season, according to Hammers
boss Slaven Bilic.
Bilic was talking ahead of his side's league showdown with Moses and his Chelsea side at the London Stadium on Monday night.
Moses, who has excelled for Chelsea this season with three goals in 25 matches at wing-back, was on loan at West Ham last term.
According to Bilic, the 26-year-old was highly rated at West Ham and was singled out for praise by Payet, who has since moved back to Marseille.
"Of course Victor always had it in him. I spoke to Payet, and he said that Victor, even including himself, was the best player that we had at West Ham then," said the Hammers boss.
"So it was about time that he showed what he had in himself and exploded in a positive way - and he has done it. He looks very concentrated and very serious. He has become a tough player. I'm not surprised, I am glad for him.
"His potential was always amazing. But sometimes you had to push him to do it day in day out. Now he is doing it," added Bilic.
The two sides meet in an English Premiership clash on Monday at the London Stadium with Bilic hoping to derail Chelsea's march to the league title.
Kick off is at 22:00.
