Bernardo Silva ignoring Barcelona rumours

Cape Town - Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva says he is paying no attention to rumours of an imminent transfer bid from Barcelona, and insists he is "very happy in Manchester".

The Blaugrana are reportedly hunting for reinforcements for their forward line after a lack of consistency from Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele, while Malcolm has struggled to settle.

Bernardo, who was nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award, has reportedly caught the eye of Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde.

Reports in Spain claim Barcelona were considering a summer bid for the Portugal international, but it appears they may have to look elsewhere.

The former Monaco man isn't paying attention to the speculation and insists he is happy at the Etihad Stadium.

When asked about speculation linking him with a move to the Nou Camp, the 24-year-old told Portuguese newspaper Record: "I do not think about it.

"I just renewed my contract with Manchester City, and after this season I have another three years of my contract.

"I am very happy in Manchester."
