Benitez ready to splash the cash

Cape Town - Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has identified Burnley's Dwight McNeil and Bournemouth's Adam Fraser and David Brooks as transfer targets.

Reports in England suggest the Spaniard is ready to splash the cash this summer in order to take the club to the next level.

Benitez has managed to steer the club away from the relegation zone, with Friday's 1-0 win over Leicester City moving them 10 points clear of the bottom three.

Newcastle now have four games left of their campaign and Benitez is now looking at the summer transfer window. McNeil has enjoyed a superb campaign at Turf Moor, scoring three goals to help the club move away from the drop zone.

Bournemouth are also expecting bids for their key midfield duo, with Fraser and Brooks proving their worth on the south coast.

Newcastle are set to lose Isaac Hayden as he wants to return down south, while Jonjo Shelvey is looking for more first-team football.

As a result, Newcastle are ready to bring in three wide players, with Brooks, Fraser and McNeil all at the top of their wish list.
