Bayern interest in Sane is no secret

Leroy Sane's agent says it is no secret that Bayern Munich are interested in signing the German winger.

The 24-year-old joined Manchester City from Schalke in 2016 and has gone on to win the Premier League twice, the FA Cup, the League Cup twice as well as the FA Community Shield on two occasions.

But one trophy eluding Sane is the Champions League, with Damir Smoljan telling Sport Bild his client might be tempted to join Bayern to fulfil his European ambitions.

City are currently banned from European competition for the next two seasons for "serious breaches" of UEFA's financial fair play regulations.

Sane has just one year left on his current contract and has been sidelined all season with an ACL injury, but is reportedly on the mend.

Smoljan said: "Together with him we talk with Manchester City about what the next step could look like.

"The interest of Bayern is no secret. But other top clubs also contacted us about Leroy.

"Bayern is the only club in Germany that Leroy can imagine as the next step in his career.

"He sees there the requirements for achieving his big goal of winning the Champions League."
