Ayew wants Champions League football

Swansea City forward Andre Ayew admits he would love to play Champions League football but rejected the notion of forcing his way out of the Welsh side.

The Ghana international enjoyed an impressive debut campaign with the Swans after leaving Ligue 1 side Marseille on a free transfer - which was a shock to many as he had often been linked with moves to Europes' elite clubs.

Ayew was the subject of inquiry for Liverpool and Sunderland in the January transfer window but, with Swansea in serious danger of being sucked into a relegation scrap, the club resisted. However, the allure of playing in Europe could be too much for the 26-year-old to turn down.

"I like England. I feel good at Swansea. It was a good year for me. The season was good on a personal level," Ayew told TF1.

"Of course, every player wants to play for the Champions League or the title. A time will come when I'll aim for these.

"I won't talk a lot but with what I've accomplished this season, clubs are interested in me. Later, we will see."

Ayew scored 12 goals in 34 Premier League appearances this season to help Swansea to a 12th place finish in the Premier league standings.
