Cape Town - Joel Campbell became the third Arsenal player to leave on transfer deadline day when he rejoined Real Betis on a season-long loan deal.
The Costa Rica international previously spent the 2012/13 campaign on loan at the Benito Villamarin, in his second year with the north London giants.
Campbell initially appeared to make the breakthrough at the Emirates Stadium two years ago, having featured 30 times in all competitions for Arsene Wenger's side.
But the 25-year-old forward was on the move again last term as he linked up with Sporting CP on a 12-month loan, although he failed to make an impact at the Portuguese club.
With the arrival of French hit-man Alexandre Lacazette during the current transfer window, Campbell has been deemed surplus to requirements once more and was allowed to negotiate a return to Betis.
However, he will not be immediately available for selection after the international break as he continues to recover from a knee injury sustained at the Gold Cup during the off-season.
Meanwhile Spanish forward Lucas Perez returned to Deportivo la Coruna on a year-long loan deal as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain secured a permanent move to rivals Liverpool.
