Cape Town - Arsenal have reportedly won the race for highly-rated Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer, upon the expiry of his contract with the German side.
AC Milan and Liverpool were strongly linked with moves for the Bosnia international full-back who's capable of filling in as a left-wing, centre-back and defensive midfielder.
But according to Sky Sports, the Gunners have secured the services of the 23-year-old, who has been promised a first-team role at the London-based outfit.
Arsene Wenger's future as manager of the club still hangs in the balance with rumours he may end his two decade spell at the club at the end of the season - but last week he confirmed he's still in the process of shortlisting potential transfer targets ahead of next season.
"Do I stay two months or 10 years? I plan," he said. "I do my job exactly the same. Of course you can do that," he told reporters.
"Of course [transfer targets will ask if I will be at the club], but we are always honest. Arsenal is a world brand today, respected all over the world."
Kolasinac has scored three goals and registered a further nine assists in 36 games this season for a struggling Bundesliga side.
