Arsenal loanee finding his feet at Hoffenheim

Cape Town - Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson says he is starting to enjoy himself at Hoffenheim after a slow start at the Bundesliga club.

As it happened: Seychelles v South Africa

The 18-year-old joined manager Julian Nagelsmann's side on loan from the Gunners at the end of August but was not selected in the matchday squad for their league opener against Freiburg.

However, he came off the bench against Dusseldorf in their second Bundesliga game of the season and scored a consolation goal in the 2-1 defeat, before bagging his second goal for Hoffenheim against Eintracht Frankfurt, in another 2-1 loss.

"It was a rocky start, but now I'm getting a few minutes here and there and scoring, so I'm happy," Nelson told the press.

Meanwhile, Nelson also started his first England Under-21 game on Tuesday against Scotland, after coming off the bench in his debut against Andorra, and capped off the performance with a goal from a free-kick that helped England to a 2-0 victory.

He added: "When we were given the free-kick, my eyes lit up and I knew it was time. Luckily, it went in the top corner, so I'm all smiles now."
