London - Arsenal manager Unai Emery has defended his decision to select Alex Iwobi in recent weeks as his side prepare to take on Bournemouth.
The Gunners fan-base is split over the Nigeria international, with some sections of the crowd hoping Emery uses an alternative for the final games of the season.
Iwobi has made 24 Premier League appearances so far this season, scoring three goals in the process.
He is once again set to start against the Cherries and Emery insists his team-mates ask for him to be selected due to his movement.
Emery told reporters: "When I ask Nacho Monreal or Sead Kolasinac the player they want to play with on the left, they say to me 'Iwobi can open up space and we can do the overlap'.
"I think Iwobi is giving a lot for us and he is important for our future. He has to continue to improve, he knows this.
"I am looking for each match for him to score because he is already giving us a lot."
