Allegri backs Conte to succeed at Chelsea

Cape Town - Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is confident that Antonio Conte would do well at Chelsea if he were to join the Premier League side.

The Italy national team coach revealed that he'll leave his post with the Azzurri after Euro 2016 in France, and has since been linked with the Blues as the successor to interim manager Guus Hiddink.

Allegri believes his predecessor at Juve is among the best tacticians in the world, and has no doubt that Conte would prove a success at Chelsea, if given the opportunity.

"Italian coaches are very good," Allegri said. "Apart from some exceptional figures like Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho, we are among the best.

"I don't know if Conte will go to Chelsea. I'm sure he'll do well if he does."
