Allardyce warns that Zaha must justify higher wages

Cape Town - Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce has warned Wilfried Zaha that an improved contract will increase expectations on his performances.

The 24-year-old winger is in talks with the Eagles regarding a deal that would increase his wages to around £100 000 a week, which is on the same level as the top players at Selhurst Park.

However, Allardyce pointed out that Zaha should be aware that a better deal means more pressure to perform at a high level more consistently.

"Every player that gets more money I demand more of," said Allardyce, according to the Evening Standard

"When he gets the bigger contract there is a bigger responsibility and I will expect a lot more than I am getting, which is saying something because I am getting an awful lot."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
