Agent: Mahrez '50/50' to stay put

Cape Town - Riyad Mahrez's agent has rated the winger's chances of staying at newly-crowned Premier League champions Leicester as "50/50".

It's no surprise that the Algeria international is attracting interest from top European clubs, as he has been instrumental in the Foxes' phenomenal season, scoring 17 goals and providing 11 assists.

The 25-year-old, who was playing in the French fourth tier in 2012, was recently named PFA Player of the Year and is contracted to the East Midlands club until 2019.

"Yes of course there is a possibility [Mahrez could leave]. When you have been playing the way Riyad has this season it is bound to attract attention," Mahrez's agent, Kamel Bengougam, told The Guardian.

"He is very happy with Leicester and of course it has been a fantastic season. They will play in the Champions League next year as well so he would be happy to stay.

"But at his age if the opportunity comes to play for a big team then we would have to think about it. I'd say it's 50/50 at the moment whether he stays or goes."
