Cape Town - Arda
Turan's agent has hit out at 'annoying' rumours stating that the
attacking midfielder is set to leave Barcelona for Arsenal.
The Turkey international has found game time hard to come by since joining Barca from La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid in 2015, although a transfer ban delayed his debut until January 2016.
After managing just 23 league starts in that 18-month period, Turan has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, while reports in Spain even went as far to suggest he had agreed a deal with the Gunners.
But his representative, Ahmet Bulut, denied the exit rumours, insisting that the 30-year-old remains a part of new Blaugrana head coach Ernesto Valverde's plans for the future.
"Arda is not going anywhere," Bulut was quoted as saying by Milliyet. "Barcelona's directors are happy with him. We haven't spoken to any club about a transfer.
"The stories that have come out in the media that he will be leaving have annoyed Arda. And nor has it gone down well with board members at the club.
"Arda Turan will see out his contract. He will stay at Barca until 2020."
Meanwhile Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger and chief executive Ivan Gazidis were spotted at an airport in the French city of Nice with the two believed to enter negotiations to sign midfielder Jean Seri and make a world-record £110 million bid for Monaco's Kylian Mbappe.
