West Brom respond to Berahino rumours

Cape Town - West Bromwich Albion have taken an alternative route to dismiss speculation that star striker Saido Berahino has not been subject of a transfer offer.

The West Midlands club have attempted to put a stop to the "silly" rumours by tweeting that there has been "NO bid for Saido".

On Tuesday, The Baggies tweeted: "Ok, this is getting silly now. So let us make it clear. There has been NO bid for Saido. That's it. Carry on everyone wba"

Berahino was the Baggies outstanding player last season after scored 14 goals in the Premier League season.

The message from West Brom comes shortly after the 21-year-old English striker was linked with a move to Premier League rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.

The Evening Standard reported that Spurs were after the £20 million-rated striker with the London club ready to offload strikers Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado ahead of the 2015/16 season.
