Cape Town - West Bromwich Albion have taken an alternative route to dismiss speculation that star striker Saido Berahino has not been subject of a transfer offer.
The West Midlands club have attempted to put a stop to the "silly" rumours by tweeting that there has been "NO bid for Saido".
On Tuesday, The Baggies tweeted: "Ok, this is getting silly now. So let us make it clear. There has been NO bid for Saido. That's it. Carry on everyone #wba"
Berahino was the Baggies outstanding player last season after scored 14 goals in the Premier League season.
The message from West Brom comes shortly after the 21-year-old English striker was linked with a move to Premier League rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.
The Evening Standard reported that Spurs were after the £20 million-rated striker with the London club ready to offload strikers Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado ahead of the 2015/16 season.
