The Gunners have been trophyless for the last six years and have lost arguably their two most influential players during this barren spell in Francesc Fabregas, who returned to Barcelona and Samir Nasri, leaving for the greener pastures offered by Manchester City.
This, along with Arsenal’s recent form have enraged board members and fans alike to the point that they are questioning he is still the right man to lead the 13-time English champions into the future
However, Hill-Wood dismissed these claims and maintained that everything is stable.
“It’s complete and utter rubbish and absolute nonsense. I think he is happy enough and we are happy enough,” he said on British tabloid, Daily Star’s website.
After their last match in which they received an embarrassing 8-2 thumping at the hands of rivals, Manchester United, it appeared Wenger’s days were numbered, but the Frenchman then made a hurried dive into the transfer market to capture Per Mertesacker, Mikel Arteta as well as sign Yossi Benayoun on loan for the rest of the season to keep the angry mob at bay temporarily.
“We have brought some new players in and although I don’t know that much about many of them I think, generally speaking, they are going to improve the squad,” added Hill-Wood.
The Gunners have one point from nine and are fourth from bottom, languishing below Premier League newcomers Swansea - who visit the Emirates on Saturday.
