Wenger mocks Zigic rumour

Cape Town - Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger poured cold water on various transfer targets but some special attention was left for Nikola Zigic.

London24 report that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will not be moving for a trio of much-talked about transfer targets.

With Olivier Giroud injured until next year, the Gunners do not have a recognised striker in their squad and numerous supposed targets had been linked with a move to the London club.

The French boss replied "No" when asked about a potential move for Manchester United's Danny Welbeck while confirming his side does not have the money to bring Radamel Falcao to the Emirates.

In probably the most ludicrous transfer rumour of the summer, former Birmingham forward Nikola Zigic has been touted with a move to Arsenal. According to reports in England, Zigic's agent came forward with the news that he had received a call from Wenger regarding  the 33-year-old forward.

Zigic is without a club after leaving Birmingham at the end of last season.

When asked about Arsenal's interest in Nikola Zigic, the French manager replied "Who?".
