Cape Town - With Juventus confident of keeping Arturo Vidal this summer, Louis van Gaal will now make a move for Roma's Kevin Strootman.
Strootman, who is still recovering from a serious knee injury, is the latest Dutch player to be linked with a move to Manchester United.
The Express report that Juventus expect Chilean star midfiedler Arturo Vidal to remain with the club for the 2014/15 season.
Juventus have now completed their pre-season tour of
Asia and Vidal has been given time off to recover from a series of injury niggles.
Asked about his plans, Vidal responded: "My future is
to train well."
While Bianconeri fans will not be put at ease by the player's comments, the club is confident that United will not spend the required £45 million to complete the deal.
Now, Louis van Gaal has turned his attention to long term United target, Kevin Strootman. The 24-year-old midfielder is again being linked with a move to Old Trafford despite providing the evidence that he has fully recovered from the knee injury that kept him out of the World Cup in Brazil.
