Valdes agrees Reds move

Cape Town - Liverpool are ready to sign former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes in order to provide back up to Simon Mignolet.

Valdes has agreed a one-year deal with the Anfield club according to the Express.

Reports in Spain have suggested that Liverpool have already agreed terms with Valdes.

Valdes is currently recovering from a serious cruciate ligament injury which ruled him out of action for a large part of last season. The Spanish goalkeeper will only return to action in October.

Barcelona replaced Valdes at the Nou Camp with Claudio Bravo and Marc-Andre ter Stegen while Liverpool are still seeking a replacement for Pepe Reina, who joined Bayern Munich in the summer.
