United ready to take spending over £150m

Cape Town - Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is readying an £18 million bid for Holland World Cup star Daley Blind.

Despite reports that the players agent is not "waiting around for United's call", the Red Devils look set to move for the versatile Dutch player.

The Daily Star report that Ajax sent Edwin Van Der Sar, the former Manchester United goalkeeper, to Old Trafford in order to negotiate a deal for Blind.

Van Der Sar was reportedly spotted at Carrington yesterday increasing the speculation that Blind would seal a move to the struggling English Premiership side.

Reports suggest United will have to offer £18 million to bring the 24-year-old defender to England.

Blind's proposed move to United has been an ongoing saga for the player, who refused to train with Ajax upon his return from Brazil, in order to force through a move.

Blind would become Manchester United's fifth summer signing after Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Marcos Rojo and Angel Di Maria joined the team during the current transfer window.
