Cape Town - Robin Van Persie's future in the Premier League is in doubt after Galatasaray's manager confirmed his intention to sign the player.
According to theManchester Evening News, Galatasaray have confirmed their interest in signing the Manchester United hitman.
The 31-year-old striker has been linked with a move to the Serie A this summer with the Red Devils expected to make a marquee signing in his position.
The Dutch striker failed to rekindle his best form this season after suffering several injuries in the latter half of United's push for a Top 4 spot.
A move away from Manchester United looks likely with Wayne Rooney set to start as the club's leading striker this season.
“We want to sign players who will both improve the squad and excite our fans. No manager would be able to say no to Van Persie,” said Galatarasay's manager Hamza Hamzaoglu.
“However, we cannot spend beyond our means. We hope to come to an agreement with him.”
Galatasaray are also reportedly interested in Van Persie's national teammate Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
