Cape Town - There could be an all-Belgium central defence at Tottenham Hotspur next season, according to reports.
Tottenham Hotspur are likely to sign Atletico Madrid defender Toby Alderweireld, according to the Telegraph.
Alderweireld, who is currently on honeymoon, is being lined up by manager Mauricio Pochettino as his third summer signing.
Following on the deals for centre-back Kevin Wimmer and right-back Kieran Trippier, Pochettino has identified Alderweireld has the player to partner Belgian teammate Jan Vertonghen at White Hart Lane.
Spurs conceded more goals than any club in the top 13 positions in the league last season and the Argentinian manager is moving fast to rectify that statistic.
The 26-year-old defender spent last season on loan at Southampton from Atletico and was reportedly on Chelsea's radar.
The La Liga giants wanted to include the Belgian in a move to bring Filipe Luis back to Spain but since Chelsea's interest was cooled, a move to Spurs seems likely for Alderweireld.
