Cape Town - 24 year-old French striker, Emmanuel Riviere, has signed for Newcastle United from Monaco for an undisclosed fee.

Chelsea will battle for the signature of Sami Khedira as his agent claimed no deal had yet been struck with Arsenal.

Costa Rican captain and Fulham forward, Bryan Ruiz, is a target for Greek giants Olympiacos.

Brendan Rodgers has guaranteed to make Liverpool stronger and insisted there are no regrets about Luis Suarez’s sale to Barcelona for £75m. The Irish manager has lost out on signing Alberto Moreno and Swansea City’s defender, Ben Davies, will be a priority but will beat off Tottenham Hotspurs in order to land the left-back.

Fabio Borini is still wanted by Sunderland although the forward has featured in Liverpool's 2-1 loss to Danish side, Brøndby.

Louis Van Gaal is set for his first press conference later today while reports are suggesting the former Netherlands coach is set to offload some of Manchester United’s dead weight in the likes of Wilfried Zaha, Javier Hernandez, Anderson, Nani, Tom Cleverley, Chris Smalling and Bebe.

Bojan Krkic has been given 24 hours to decide whether he wants to join Stoke on loan from Barcelona.

Mathieu Debuchy will complete his move to Arsenal from Newcastle in the next 24 hours.

West Ham United have offered Winston Reid a new long-term contract.

Barcelona are yet to make a decision on the future of Xavi, says Barcelona coach Luis Enrique while the Catalans remain interested in Jan Vertonghen, Jeremy Mathieu and Mats Hummels.

Juve's sporting director Giuseppe Marotta has said this about Manchester United target, Arturo Vidal, “He’s a Juve player. We have never put him up for sale. A number of important clubs have asked about him but we have never sat around the table for negotiations.”

Everton could be set to sign Muhamed Besic from Ferencvaros in the next few days.

According to Marca, German midfielder, Toni Kroos, will be unveiled as a Real Madrid player in the next 24 hours.

France forward, Antoine Griezmann, is being chased by Monaco and Spurs with Real Madrid poised to add Colombia duo James Rodriguez and Falcao to their ranks.

After joining Borussia Monchengladbach on loan, Thorgan Hazard is convinced that he has made the right choice and is still hopeful to break through Chelsea’s ranks where he could play alongside his brother, Eden.

Cardiff City midfielder, Gary Medel, is continuing being linked with a move to Inter Milan.

£4m rated Ecuador winger, Jefferson Montero, is close to signing for Swansea while Napoli will announce a season-long loan deal for Michu in the next 48 hours.
