Suarez to play in Cape Town?

Cape Town - Liverpool 'bad boy' Luis Suarez is expected to be included in the Reds' squad for their confirmed pre-season tour of South Africa next month.

According to the Goal.com website, Liverpool will play Ajax Cape Town in a friendly on Friday, May 31.

“It is true that we (Ajax Cape Town) will be playing Liverpool. A contract was finalised a few days ago and they cannot pull out. The game is on (Friday) May 31 at the Cape Town Stadium,” Ajax Cape Town PRO Shooz Mekutu said.

This means controversial striker Suarez could play, despite receiving a 10-match ban by the English FA for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic last weekend. That ban will see him miss the remainder of the season in England (four matches) as well as the first six matches of the 2013/14 season.

The Urban Warriors are currently embroiled in a relegation fight and face a 'six pointer' clash against Chippa United on Saturday.

“We are not a expecting a reserve team. So, we are expecting Liverpool with their strongest squad. These are the players we watch week in and week out. That’s what we agreed on when we signed a contract with them,” added Mekutu.

Besides hosting Liverpool on May 31, Ajax Cape Town are rumoured to be lining up matches against Newcastle and Everton for a pre-season tournament in July.

The English Premiership season ends on May 19.
