Cape Town - Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, who has been sidelined
for a month after suffering a thigh injury while on international duty, has returned
to training with the Reds.
Manager Brendan Rodgers’ striking force has suffered severely with the absence of Sturridge, but according to the Mirror, the 25-year-old could be fit to face QPR after the international break.
England manager Roy Hodgson, who was involved in a row with Rodgers over the treatment of Sturridge following his injury, seemed to be favouring the Liverpool manager in last night’s Euro 2016 thumping of San Marino when he substituted both Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling at half-time.
The Three Lions have one more game against Estonia on Sunday and Rodgers will be hoping his players can avoid injury on their return to league action.
