Cape Town - Liverpool's wantaway star Raheem Sterling is refusing to give in to his exit demands and is determined to quit the club this summer.
Sterling has missed two consecutive days of training at the club's Melwood base and does not want to travel with the squad on their pre-season tour reports Sky Sports.
The British news service also suggests the reason behind Sterling's desire to quit Anfield is "because he does not want to play for manager Brendan Rodgers".
The club has denied this audacious claim but the ramifications are having a disastrous effect on the club.
Sky Sports also report that Liverpool manager told Sterling on Tuesday that an improved deal could be agreed with the club's executives but Sterling then revealed his real reason behind wanting to leave to the club.
Sterling reportedly told Rodgers that "he did not want to play for the manager".
Liverpool leave for Australia on their pre-season tour on Sunday.
