Stats prove Hazard is the best

Cape Town - Sport24 has looked at the key indicators and decides that everyone else is just chasing Eden Hazard's shadow.

Eden Hazard has been playing a more subdued role at Chelsea this season following the arrival of potent combination Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, or has he?

The Belgian winger has hardly been mentioned by pundits but a closer look at the statistics has revealed that Hazard is the best winger in the English Premiership this season.

Hazard came out on top after analysing the key areas of a winger's game namely goals scored, assists, shot accuracy and take-ons and comparing the Chelsea player with his main rivals including Angel Di Maria, Mesut Ozil, David Silva and Raheem Sterling.

Using the statistics provided by Squawka.com, it is clear that Hazard is currently the best winger in England. 

Hazard tops two of the four categories including successful take-ons, where he has triple the amount to that of main rival Angel Di Maria.

While Di Maria leads those compared in assists, his shooting accuracy lets him down. The Argentine hits the target just 40% of the time while Hazard tests the goalkeeper with 7 of out every ten strikes.

With two goals to his name, including the opener at Stamford Bridge against Arsenal, and one assist, Eden Hazard is Sport24's choice for "Best Winger in the EPL (so far)".
