Spurs want Beckham on loan

London - Tottenham want former England captain David Beckham to play on loan for the Premier League club.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp says "it's whether (Los Angeles) Galaxy will let him go on loan," according to British media reports.

Redknapp says "we'd be interested and plenty of others would be as well."

Redknapp will ask Spurs chairperson Daniel Levy to persuade the Galaxy to lend Beckham now until the Major League Soccer season begins in March.

Beckham, 35, has expressed interest in joining a European club on loan to boost his chances of being recalled to England's national team.

However, Beckham has also said that the only Premier League team he would consider playing for was Manchester United, which he left in 2003 to join Real Madrid.
