Spurs face Old Trafford trip on opening day

Cape Town - The Premier League fixtures have been released for the 2015/16 season as Chelsea attempt to defend their title.

The Premier League season will kick off on August 8 with Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal all handed home starts.

The 2014/15 champions will host Swansea City on the opening day.

Arguably the pick of the opening day fixtures sees Tottenham Hotspur travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United. Both sides will be aiming to improve on last season's finishes and a positive result on opening day would go a long way to settling the nerves.

Manchester City face a trip to West Bromwich Albion while Liverpool are handed a chance to redeem themselves at Stoke City, after the Potter mauled the Reds 6-1 on the final day of last season.

Opening day fixtures:

AFC Bournemouth v Aston Villa

Arsenal v West Ham United

Chelsea v Swansea City

Everton v Watford

Leicester City v Sunderland

Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur

Newcastle United v Southampton

Norwich City v Crystal Palace

Stoke City v Liverpool

West Bromwich Albion v Manchester City
