Cape Town - Tottenham Hotspur
are reportedly planning a January transfer swoop for Aston Villa's England
midfielder Fabian Delph.
The 24-year-old is into the final months of his contract at Villa Park and according to the Mirror, Spurs are expected to make an audacious move to sign the midfielder in January.
Delph has already turned down a four-year, incentive-based deal worth £50,0000 a week to stay at Villa and the Midlands club are now bracing themselves for his exit at the end of the season.
Mousa Dembele, who is now under threat from Delph’s possible arrival, is unhappy with his situation and claims manager Mauricio Pochettino has not told him why he is not playing.
“At this point, it is not going very well at the club but it is not for that why I can say that the coach will play me," he said.
"I do not know. I have not had an explanation from my coach, Mauricio Pochettino."
Pochettino could soon be joined by Paul Mitchell, Southampton’s head of recruitment, who is understood to be close to a switch to the scouting set-up at White Hart Lane.
