Cape Town - Tottenham Hotspur announced that midfielder Nabil Bentaleb signed a new five-year contract, which runs until 2020. The club's website confirmed the news on Monday.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who graduated from the London club's academy, joined Spurs initially as a trialist in September 2011, signed Academy forms in January 2012 and then made his debut at Southampton in December 2013.
Bentaleb was given an extended run in Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino's first team last season and made 35 appearances in all competitions. The Algerian international combined with fellow Academy graduate Ryan Mason to create a strong attacking base for Spurs.
After completing his AFCON duties with Algeria, he started every Premier League match until the end of the campaign.
